Started in 2006, the Sanatkada Crafts and Weaves Bazaar in Lucknow began as a showcase of arts, crafts, and textiles from across India but has since evolved into a celebration of Lucknavi food, culture, and heritage. Each year, the festival explores a theme of cultural relevance, such as “Pahenava” (2012), which traced Lucknow’s couture history. This year, the theme focuses on the bustling Lucknow bazaars, honouring the artisans, craftsmen, and culinary experts who have preserved the city’s rich traditions for centuries.
